A step towards sustainable safety, productivity and environmental protection
According to the Zarmehr Marlik Mine Public Relations report, Engineer Iman Khadem, the mine’s HSE supervisor, emphasized the importance of implementing advanced technologies and complying with health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards. He stated: “We at the HSE unit work on three topics: safety, health and environment, and these standards not only help increase worker safety, but also improve productivity and protect the environment.” Khadem added: “Zarmehr Marlik Mine is committed to providing a safer working environment by focusing on the use of new technologies and modern methods. The use of advanced safety equipment and continuous training programs for employees are part of our efforts to maintain health and safety in the mining environment.”
In the area of health, Zarmehr Marlik Mine has implemented comprehensive and coherent measures. These measures include the following:
1- Annual tests: Conducting annual medical examinations for all personnel in order to assess general health status and early identification of possible diseases
2- Monitoring working conditions: Continuous monitoring of workplace conditions, including air quality, noise and light levels, to prevent negative effects on employee health
3- Health training: Holding regular training courses to inform employees about the principles of personal hygiene and the workplace
4- Providing protective equipment: Distribution of personal protective equipment such as masks, safety glasses and hearing protection to prevent occupational injuries
5- Waste management: Implementing waste management systems to prevent environmental pollution and protect employee health. He also emphasized respecting environmental principles and reducing negative impacts on the ecosystem, saying: “At Zarmehr Marlik, we believe that environmental sustainability and mining activities can go hand in hand. These measures will not only help reduce potential accidents and risks, but will also have a positive impact on the local community and natural resources.”
