Reducing dependence on imports and saving foreign exchange with smart logistics management
Zarmehr Marlik Company has succeeded in significantly reducing its dependence on imports by implementing comprehensive optimization programs, digitizing processes, and localizing equipment production. These measures not only increase the productivity and lifespan of machinery, but are also an important step towards industrial independence and foreign exchange savings.
Mohsen Shirqazi, Procurement Manager of Zarmehr Marlik Factory, said in this regard: “We have been able to replace many parts and equipment imported from China and Italy with domestically produced ones. Parts that previously needed to be replaced after a few months now work without problems for more than six years.”
He added: “In addition to significant foreign exchange savings, these measures have also significantly improved the quality of equipment and ensured the factory’s independence in the production of key equipment.”
Referring to the digitalization process in the company, Shirqazi explained: “Since the beginning of this company’s activities, efforts have been made to systematize the forms used. Initially, these forms were designed and used in Excel and then Access. After the presence of Dr. Hamed Moghadam and full follow-up of the processes, they were systematically collected and paper documents were collected, and all work is done digitally. This measure has increased accuracy, speed, and reduced human errors, and has enabled accurate planning for the purchase of parts and consumables.”
Procurement Manager Zarmehr Marlik also stated: “By creating a spare parts warehouse and reserve engines, the downtime of machinery has been reduced from several days to less than one day. This has significantly increased the productivity of production lines. In addition, reverse engineering and improving the quality of parts have reduced maintenance costs and increased the life of the equipment.”
Shirqaji emphasized in the end: “Our goal is to ensure that every part and equipment used in the factory can be produced domestically. This approach not only reduces dependence on imports, but also improves the quality of the equipment. The result of these measures has been foreign exchange savings, process optimization, and overall factory productivity improvement. Today, Zarmehr Marlik is known as a successful example of smart management and innovation in the mining and industrial equipment manufacturing industry.”
